Georgia College & State University (GCSU) President Cathy Cox presented co-editor Dr. Karen Berman with the Hemphill-Sallstrom Award on Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Celebration of Excellence Awards in Russell Auditorium on the campus of GCSU in Milledgeville, Georgia. The award is presented annually to one retired faculty member who has provided outstanding service. The award was based on Dr. Berman's work on publishing Stories of the Holocaust: Art for Healing and Renewal.
